The Newbies are the Greatest

It was September 11, and I was down in the dumps for a lot of different reasons, including the fact that it was 9/11. I saw the mailman drive past my mailbox and up to my front door. I assumed he must have a package for me, but I also knew that I hadn't ordered anything, so I was surprised. He handed me this HUGE box.
This is the box--------------------->.

The return address said, "Newbies."

I was overwhelmed, and I started to cry.

There was a pink bag for Pixie.
-------------------------------->

There were 3 boxes addressed to
Jenny
Nick
and me.

By this time I was sobbing. What an amazing group of online friends I have in the Newbies from Wet Canvas. Thank you so much my dear friends:
Maggie, Trish, Paula, Gwen, Tami, Louise, Karen, Sueze, Samma, Debra, Diane, and if I missed someone, I'm so sorry! I'm crying again! I love you all!

Oh, and Pixie says Thank you, too! She's already had a treat from her bag, and she loves the toy!

Jenny and Nick will be home on Friday so we can all celebrate Jenny's birthday together and go to a wedding. They will get their packages then. Thank you!

May we never forget
Those who died
May we always remember
What happened

May we never forget
Why we must be strong
May we always remember
Those who still suffer

May we never forget
That we must always pray
May we always remember
We must forgive

May we never forget
The lives which were lost
May we always remember
Those who were left behind

May we never forget
That good still triumphs
May we always remember
That peace is a struggle

May we never forget
That Love is the goal
May we always remember
Peace

Three Beautiful Things This Week

Three Beautiful Things This Week was inspired by a wonderful blog that Clare writes called Three Beautiful Things. Everyday, Clare writes about 3 Beautiful Things that happen each day in her life. It's a wonderful blog! I can only hope to imitate her in a very small way.

1) It's been a very boring week! That is so wonderful! I've been able to live a "normal" life with it's challenges that don't send my stress levels soaring into outer space! Yahoo!

2) The weather has cooled off nicely! These evenings were made for great sleeping! The days begin with a need for a sweater and end with the need for shorts. The evenings cool off enough to need a light blanket on bed. It's my favorite time of year.

3) I'm feeling better now that I am off gluten. I assume it will take a while for my body to heal from the adverse affects of the gluten. I'm glad that the doctor was able to find this. I had no idea. It does make eating more difficult, but when it comes to my health, I am better.

The Start of Another Season

I listened to the weather forecast during the 6 PM news tonight. Our low is predicted to 40 degrees. It's the first week of September! Cooler weather is returning to the south central part of Minnesota.

When I got up this morning, I realized that it was dark outside. I was actually shocked. I didn't think the mornings would be dark yet. There was a hint of light and red on the horizon, but last month, on this date, it was light.

The change of seasons has begun. It's time to begin the clean up outdoors. Trees and bushes need to be trimmed. Leaves will soon need to be raked. The last of the tomatoes and cucumbers will soon be picked.

Jeans need to be brought out of the closet to see if they shrunk while in the closet this summer. (I don't know why that happens!) Long sleeved tees and sweaters need to be washed for use. Where did I put that sweatshirt? Spring and Summer clothes need to be packed away. Windows need to be washed. The garage needs to be cleaned out!

It's that time again. Cool weather preceding the snow and cold. I'm ready for the change. This year, I really am.
