Thank you and I goofed!

My Mama always taught me to say please and thank you, so I want to say thank you to all of you who visited my store.  None of my items are at zero views right now.

Thank You!!!

Now, I goofed!

You see my polymer clay seahorse?
Well, I goofed.  I think I should have added a base when I baked the sea horse.  I thought I could do it later, but the tail won't allow me to do so, or at least, I'm not sure it will.

Any suggestions on how to get a polymer clay base all the way up the mandrel?  I have visions of a sand and seascape going up the sea horse's little butt.

Help?  Please?

Thank you!

  1. If I understand your request, Mallory... you want to apply PC to the visible part of the mandrel? If it is possible to remove the mandrel (if it is just a straight rod and not glued in, as PC to metal is not a permanent bond) that is where you should start, marking the depth and start from there. If you can't or don't want to remove it, you can start with a thin snake of clay and just wrap it around the mandrel. This can afterward be textured to look like sand or even seaweed or coral if you like. Not sure if I have understood your design aim, in which case this suggestion won't be very helpful:( In any case your seahorse looks very mod and ready to party for the Holidays!

Hope this Holy Season finds you and yours enjoying Peace and counting Blessings... Merry Christmas from Maritime Canada xoxo

  2. Thanks, Monique. I thought the bond was permanent so I haven't even tried to remove it. I'll give that a try. Thanks!
