Eye'M Watching You!
Recently, I've become fascinated with eye beads. What? you say. A disembodied eye? Yes, exactly that. I didn't realize that these beads were considered powerful talismans in many cultures. Check out this site. It's called "The Evil Eye Bead." I also don't call these beads, "evil eyes." I just like them for what they are: eye beads.
If you want to see some stunning "eye beads," check out Jinx Garza's blog! The eyes she makes are absolutely amazing!
Now, I'd like to show you some of my recent "eye beads."
Green on Yellow is this eye bead. Now, I ask you, does this eye look evil? I think it looks questioning.
I call this one Ancient Eye Bead. It looks almost fearful.
This eye reminds me of a reptile's eye. The eye seems to be looking to the side as if it were taking care of itself in the jungle.
This is my favorite eye bead to date. I have a special plan for it. When I finish the project, I will show you. I used a bit of dichroic glass at the base of the eye ball. It's really pretty!
I hope to list my other eye beads in my Etsy store very soon. So, what do you think? Are these beads really evil or are they just fun?
Eye'll be paying attention to see what you are up to!
ReplyDeleteEye like the Ancient Eye! I wonder what you are planning for the gray one? It makes me think "cat, big cat" for some reason. Purrrrrrrrrrrfectly smooth with a bit of sparkle...
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your lunch outing looked like lots of fun! Don't forget to take that picture to Walgreens :)
Thanks for the reminder, Ang. I had forgotten! I hope to show you, maybe in about a week, what I am doing with that gray eye. I'm just hoping it works.
ReplyDeleteYour eye beads are wonderful and fascinating.
