This was what happened yesterday afternoon.
Spike lay under his "other" tree in the living room.
The new fireplace was finished.
There were ribs on the grill.
There were beads to clean.
Now, listen to what I heard. The cicadas were keeping up with the train! It was a wonderful afternoon!
I have always loved the sound of a train whistle, but we no longer live close enough to the tracks in town to hear the trains coming through. Looks like an ideal afternoon for you!
ReplyDeleteHey, that black and yellow geometric design disc is cool! You know, the bugs are strangely quiet down here this year, now that you mention them. Some summers, they are so noisy that I can hear them while I'm inside and the air conditioner is running!
ReplyDeleteBetween the bugs and tree frogs, I go crazy it gets so loud! I'm tired of the noise, but, when there is no noise, there's snow. I guess I'd rather have the bugs and frogs.
ReplyDeletei absolutely love the photo of your soaking beads! too clever.
ReplyDeleteThose noises are the "sounds of summer"...I was just stopping to listen to them tonight when we walked up from the beach. I love those sounds! Looks like you had a wonderful summer day!
