I own a Big Kick Machine.
With this machine I am able to emboss and add texture to metals.
I put in the template for the design.
I added the polymer clay...
She skids to a stop!
What?
I thought it was a good idea at the time.
I opened up the template.
There was my polymer clay
STUCK
in all the impressions.
I still haven't been able to clean it all out.
We'll see what happens,
but it seemed like a great idea at the time!
Oh, well!
Oh my! Wonder if putting it in the freezer would help. Then there's the trash can. Also wondering if you had sandwiched it between wax paper if it woukd have worked. Not sure you should try.
ReplyDeleteUh-Oh! Good to know though. Really glad you posted your experiment results.
ReplyDeleteA big kick machine?! never heard of it before, but now I want one!!!
ReplyDeleteMaggie's freezer idea might work. Also you might oil it before hand with vegetable oil or something, so the poly clay doesn't stick? not sure.
good luck!
I am posting late to this thread. I don't have this machine, but I know where you can get great pointers on this and other polymer clay techniques (as well as related jewellery-making topics). This is the link for the blog commentary about the Big Kick:

I am a paying member of Cindy's Polymer Clay Tutor video library (though "paying" seems inaccurate as it is SO cheap!) Anyone can read the blog at no cost; it is a great place for discussion by members and non-members alike. Polymer clay is my favourite medium because it can become anything you want it to be!
