Even as we near the end,
the death of summer,
the decline of fall,
each season slips into the other,
silently, quietly, with little violence,
except the
EXPLOSION
of
color.
Colors hidden,
save for the onset of fall.
One season melting into the other.
Trees slumber.
Foliage bursts into the brilliance of the sun.
Cloudy days.
Less light.
The autumn has begun.
