The Clay that Wanted to be what I didn't want it to be, but it became what it wanted to be

I needed to use up some clay.

I had accepted a challenge to create a textured object such as a bowl.

So I gathered up the clay.

I put them in a ball and mushed and twisted and turned and flattened.

I was determined to make a bowl.

Well, my first attempts just didn't work.

I decided I'd make a coiled bowl.

That's when the clay took over.

I had no choice.

This is what happened.

Sticks of clay that became earrings.

Braids became a bracelet.

Flattened clay became feathers for a pendant in my necklace.

I had no choice.

The clay rules!!!

What! Leftovers Again? Bead Table Wednesday

Today, I spend some time making polymer clay canes.  Canes in polymer clay can be equated to murrini in the world of glass.  Anyway, back to my story, like glass, I hate wasting clay.  When you make poly clay canes, you loose the ends.  These end protrude when they shouldn't, so you simply slice them off.  As I looked at these little ends, I thought about color blends and/or discs.  This time, discs won!  I made thin discs out of these end pieces.  Now, stay tuned.  Let's see what these thin discs will become!
