Tree Art

When I walk,

I love to look at trees.

That's how I first discovered

tree art.

Tree art is made by the trees themselves.

There is no graffitti

nor is there an outside source for the art

save a bird or a bug or a disease.

Take a look at the trees I found yesterday.

 See the eyes and nose and the branch tooth?

It reminds me of a little nymph in the tree watching everyone who walks by.

This was my favorite tree.

See the bewildered look, the one eye, the open mouth, the teeth?

I can only imagine that this tree is amazed that there are beings who are actually mobile

as opposed to the tree which cannot move and has roots deeper than deep itself.

I love this tree!

Art is Everywhere!

This beautiful woman is a member of the church that I have been attending since I have been at Jenny's.  I've seen her there, and I finally asked her about her art.
Isn't her head dress amazing?  Although we didn't talk for very long, I found out that she folds her head dress herself.  I am amazed as I look at that work of wearable art, and see all the folds and tucks.  Each one supports the other so that, in the end, she has created an amazing head dress that stands alone.

How she does that, I don't know, but her work is truly art in every sense of the word.  She looks beautiful!!

Art At Mayo Clinic

In spite of the fact that it was a very busy day,

there were those moments when we stopped to enjoy
some of the fabulous art here at Mayo Clinic.
It seems that you can miss these great works of art, if your thoughts are elsewhere.
Sometimes, you just stumble upon it.
So, get ready,
this is very picture heavy!
This is a Dale Chuhily sculpture.
It hangs at the top of one of the floors at Mayo.
I love this!

I can't imagine dusting all of that glass!

As you walk through the halls between appointments,
you walk past walls
full of pictures
and
little expositions of encased art.
Man and Freedom

hangs in the Mayo building.
He is, of course, a tall sculpture.
He hangs near the ceiling
and he's an over powering figure in the lobby.
Adorning one wall between buildings
is an entire collection of Andy Warhol paintings.
I love this Warhol Rhino!
Don't you just love this Baboon?
This butterfly is gorgeous!
This is one AMAZING wall!
Even as you walk between buildings and appointments,
there are small displays of beautiful art!
I call this unknown, because I didn't record the artist who made this.

I called it A Walking Ballet.
That's not the true title,
and
I don't know the artist, but
I LOVE IT!
I remember the title of this was "Shell."
I don't know the artist,
but it was stunning!
These sailboats were on the wall where Jenny had an appointment.
I call this Mixed Media, and it was in a lounge where we waited.

I've skimmed over so much of the art.
I'll try to post more photos as time goes on.
I was so impressed with these amazing pieces.
If you have to be here,
it's worth the trip to see the art.

Shopping Etsy - Search Recycled Art Glass

I decided to shop Etsy again using the search term: recycled art glass. Here are some of the fabulous items I found. I think you'll enjoy them, too.
The first item I found was this recycled glass mobile from Designs by C.D. Childs. This mobile was made from recycled wine bottles. It's called: Eco Friendly Wine Bottle Mobile (Recycled).

From bayatinge on Etsy, I found a shop full of wonderful treasures including these awesome slumped Perrier bottles that are now coasters! How cool is that? Titled: Chill, these would make a unique gift for anyone!
















Ecohead is another vendor on Etsy.
Talk about a creative use of recycled objects, this item, titled "A Family of Peace Spiders" shows how creativity and recycling can be put together.

In Minty Fresh's Etsy Shop, I found some very interesting works of glass art.

My Beadalina Arrived Today!

When you see the work of a fabulous artist who goes by the name of Angelina Beadalina, you know why I wanted to own a piece of her work! Well, today I do! This is an absolutely fabulous sculpture that I will treasure for the rest of my life, and knowing that it's a Beadalina, well, that will make this piece of art even more special. Ang, thank you for your ability to share your talent with us through this glass medium! I am truly impressed by the quality of your work and your ability to take a glob of glass and fashion it into this marvelous work of art. I'm sure that everyone will agree with me when they see this woman with her hair blowing in the wind. She's mine now!
