Lisa Rippee - What Goes on in Her Mind?

I would love to walk through the mind of Lisa Rippee, a glass artist who works in both borosillicate and soft glass. When you visit her Etsy store, Cloud Eleven Design Creations in Glass, and look around, you will begin to understand why I say this.

In her narrative, Lisa will mention borosillicate glass. This is made from borosillicate glass or boro as it is nicknamed. It's a very strong glass.

Lisa Rippee of Cloud Eleven Design is a flamework artist in Kansas, where she creates humorous works using soda lime and borosilicate glass. She finds inspiration in simple things, such as things children say, annoying television commercials, and life’s subtle ironies. Her most rewarding work is that which elicits a strong response from the viewer. Lisa has studied with several glass artists such as Loren Stump, Sharon Peters, and Tink Martin. She teaches private lessons and will be an instructor at Glass Stock in Bend, Oregon in 2010. Time to go visit another GREAT Etsy Store!

Today, we are off to Sun Daisy Gems owned and operated by Trisha McKendry. Trisha's store is fabulous and fascinating. Trisha is a young wife and mother. Where she finds time to do all of the glass work that she does, I don't know. Her work is fabulous! I can only give you a short view of all the fabulous glass in her Etsy store.




Isn't this a fabulous toggle? I love the colors Trisha uses in he work. She works with both soft glass (Soda Lime Glass) and borosilicate glass (Pyrex). She does an outstanding job with both types of glass! You'll see that as we walk through her store.












Look at this beautiful vessel that Trisha made! It's blown glass, and the vessel is stunning! Look at the beautiful shape and form of this vessel.

This is one of my favorite pieces in Trisha's store! It's called "Baby Blue Bloom Pregnant Lampwork Goddess." Trisha also has a Pink Baby Bloom in her store. You really have to visit her store.















In addition to her glass work, Trisha has written a tutorial on this fabulous bead. (I hope that there are many more tutorials to come!) It is well written and full of great photos. I just printed off my copy. I'm anxious to get to work on it! Like I said, I don't know how this wife and young mother is able to get done all that she does. Take a look at her store. My Beadalina Arrived Today!

When you see the work of a fabulous artist who goes by the name of Angelina Beadalina, you know why I wanted to own a piece of her work! Well, today I do! This is an absolutely fabulous sculpture that I will treasure for the rest of my life, and knowing that it's a Beadalina, well, that will make this piece of art even more special. Ang, thank you for your ability to share your talent with us through this glass medium! I am truly impressed by the quality of your work and your ability to take a glob of glass and fashion it into this marvelous work of art. I'm sure that everyone will agree with me when they see this woman with her hair blowing in the wind. She's mine now!
