Needle Felting - I'm going to like it, I think!

With Jenny's stem cell transplant coming up,
and knowing that I would not be making glass beads for a while,
I knew I'd have to find something to keep me busy.
Marcy Lamberson suggested that I try needle felting.
She told me it was easy to do and transportable.
She even shared with me where she buys her supplies on Etsy--
So, I ordered this,
I think I'm going to like it.
Everything I needed came in this box, from the roving to the needle.

It is easy to do, and I can easily carry the entire kit in my bag.

The only thing I need to remember is to be more careful

because when the ball slips, the needle can plunge into your finger.
Like
OUCH!
I do think, however, I'm going to like this very much!

Studio Marcy - Always a Treat!

Whenever I visit Studio Marcy on Etsy,
I always leave with a big smile on my face.
Marcy is best known for her whimsical, sculptural work!
Take a look at some of the items I found in her store.

Studio Marcy is ready for Christmas!
Santa has already made a visit to Marcy's store on Etsy,
and
Santa is Dancing!
Marcy, in her Christmas letter to Santa,
and she's been good,
asked Santa for the Elves' IPod list.
I wonder if she'll get it?
This pine cone isn't real.
It's made of glass.
Isn't it amazing?
Marcy makes these gorgeous pine cones as a request from
Mother Nature.
Mother Nature understands that Marcy makes these beautiful sculptures from glass!
This is a bead you can wear or use as a sweet reminder of winter.

Marcy is best known for her whimsical sculptures.
Here's another example of her work.
When I look at these sculptures,
I always smile.
This little sculpture is a
Jackolope.
His name is Jackson.
If you don't know what a jackolope is,
be sure to read the description.
Marcy has seen them in her native Wyoming.
How about this bear with a bird on his back.
Oh, don't worry, Bernie and Clarissa are good friends!
Marcy is hoping, though, that they find a new forever home very soon.
Clarissa just tweets and tweets and tells everyone everything!

This was just a quick preview of all the delightful sculptures in Marcy's store.
Be sure to visit soon.
You'll leave with a smile on your face, and,
maybe,
a bird in the hand?

This is a teaser!

I have run out of time tonight to do justice to the class I took with Caitlin Hyde! Tomorrow, I will post more about the class. Just let me say now, it was AWESOME!

I also want to thank Marcy Lamberson for the invitation to visit and attend Caitlin's class. It was a blast!

Atlanta is a huge city, but it was so much warmer than here! Tomorrrow, I will blog about Caitlin's class. The next day, I hope, I will show some beads that I made in her class.

If you ever have a chance to take Caitlin's class, do not walk, but run to sign up! You will never regret it.

Another Contest!

Now, how fun is this?
Thanks to Marcy Lamberson of
Studio Marcy,
and
Marcy's awesome blog,
I learned of Mary Lockwood's
Glass Olympics.
Marcy
has links to other contests there on this page.
Thank you, Marcy.
Now, I looked at the entries already posted there,
and I honestly think that the winner was there before I posted.
When you look, you'll know who I mean.
Just click on the thumbnails at the bottom of the page to see the entries.
Mary states her criteria for judging.
So, please, comment on the photos there.
You can comment on mine, too, but, truly, I don't expect to win.
This was just a great opportunity to have some fun.
Here's what I entered.
I call this one "Spring Bone."
This was just fun to make and an opportunity to use a little tongue in cheek in lampworking.

I call this one Cupcakes in a PeaPod.
This was also a fun bead to make.
I hope to have it put into my Etsy store tomorrow or the next day.
Like I said,
the winner was there before I posted.
Check it out.
I do know who I will vote for.
I think I know who you will vote for, too.
It's okay.
She did a fabulous job!
I love kites, too!
