I really feel fortunate. I have a Christmas show coming up in a week and a half. I have been hitting the thrift stores looking for possible decorations. I hit the jack pot today! I love these angels, and the big one, was the most expensive prop costing $1! The only problem I have is that I don't know how I'm going to make the tall angel stand up straight since it has no stand. Maybe I could glue a cardboard stand on the back of it to prop it up? I'm not sure. I'll give it a try, but I do think these lovely ladies will add a wee bit of the Christmas spirit to my table.
Today was bleak and snowy. I needed some "comfort" food, so I stopped at Taco John's for lunch. Normally, I wouldn't complain, but when I see a smoker, and this person was a chain smoker, holding their cigarette out the window, I have to wonder why. Do they think they will keep their car cleaner or not get the smell of smoke on themselves? I don't know, but after being behind the person for 10-15 minutes, my car stunk of smoke. (The wait was long.) I'll explain why in a minute. That really killed my appetite. I am not a smoker, and I have only smoked once in my life. (That's another story of my teenage angst years.) However, I don't get holding the cigarette out the window thing. If you don't want to smell up your clothes or car, don't worry, it's too late, and yes, you smell. I don't want to endanger my health, and I don't want the smell of smoke on my clothes or in my car. Keep that cigarette in the car. Stepping off my soap box now.
The reason the line was so long at Taco John's today was because their computer system failed. The good thing, even though I was stuck behind the smoker, is that because their computer system was down, lunch. was. free! I thought that was very nice of Taco John's. I will return and the next time, I will buy my lunch!

All in All It was a very Good Monday!
As Mondays go, yesterday was a very good Monday!
1) I went shopping for an Easter outfit, since I will be reading at Mass. My clothes have been getting a little big, so I bought a new outfit!
Size 8!!!! Of course, I knew I needed a new pair of, get this, size 8 Jeans!!
Yes!!
2) I had lunch with a very dear friend. That was wonderful!
3) I came home and realized that this month I am making my last car payment!!! Wow! I will now own my car and have a little extra money in the bank.
There's more, but I can't go into it right now. All I can say is, Monday was a very good day!
See my new size 8 jeans!!!

Lunch At the Lake--We Finally Managed to Get Together!
Sandy, Dena, and I are friends. We are all busy women, so, sometimes, it's difficult to try to make the time to get together. Today, we did it! We went to a small bar and grill in Madison Lake called The Boat Landing.
Here's a picture of Dena and Sandy when we arrived at the Boat Landing.
It was so good to see them. Dena had just gotten back from a trip to a much warmer climate than Minnesota. We had hoped to eat out, but you can see we needed a bit more warmth than the weather on the lake was offering.
Here's a sample of the decor once inside. It's a redneck's windchimes! You can see a bit of the lake in the photo!
The food was great, and at the end of our meal, our waitress offered to take our photo. That was so nice of her! She was a sweetie! I have to send this off to Walgreens to have prints made for the 3 of us. We think it's the first one we have together, so it will be on our refrigerators when we get the prints. Note to self, remind Dena and Sandy to remind me to send the photo to Walgreens to be printed.
I feel truly blessed to have these wonderful women in my life. We had a great time today.
Now here's a view of Madison Lake, one of the 10,000 in Minnesota!
It might have been cloudy and gloomy, but we had a great time!

I hAd lUnCh with the KiDs!
If you think it's hard to take YOUR children anywhere, just think of how hard it is for ME to take my children ANYWHERE and have them behave!
In spite of the fact that they are 31 and 29, respectively,
I can't take them anywhere without them saying,
"Do I have to eat this?
"Why did we come here?"
"I wanted to go to Burger King."
"I'm a vegetarian."
Sometimes, I think it's easier just to take Spike out to eat.
He will only lift his leg and, well, you know.
He's not fussy.
He doesn't refuse to eat his food.
Oh, well, I guess that's just the way it is.
Sigh!
Actually,
I loved it.
It was good to be together again,
and
it was all in good fun.
