1) Memories preserved. How I miss these people! I was born into a crazy, amazing family where I was loved so much! Everyone should be so blessed!
2) We are experiencing the "Winter Thaw." Temperatures are climbing above the freezing mark. This is so nice in January. The best part, it happens every year!
3) There are deer tracks all over my front yard. I wonder what they're finding there?

1) I decided that, even though my goal is to write a blog post everyday, that, sometimes, it's all right to rest or have fun instead of writing, even if what you are writing is one of your favorite things to write!
2) I had a great time on my birthday! I reconnected with so many people! That was AWESOME!
3) Last night, we had our first official "hard frost." Now, let the AWESOMENESS of an Indian Summer begin!

1) It's been another good week! I have been able to torch almost everyday. I have actually been happy with what has come out of the kiln. I joined another exchange on Lampworketc. It's been fun so far! How can any of this be bad?
2) Saw my eye doc yesterday. Things are progressing well with my eyes. Even with my concerns, he said that everything is in the "normal" range. That's good to know. He said that everything will settle down in the next 3 weeks. That is good to know.
3) Pixie has been trying to be the dominant person in our home. She continues to try to steal my place in bed and on the couch and chairs. I don't have to wrestle her into a submissive position, because, most of the time she's laying down, but I do have to smile when I grab her snout and say, "No," and then she does as she pleases anyway. I honestly think she's part cat!!! Don't let the dreamy eyes fool you!!!

Three Beautiful Things This Week
Three Beautiful Things This Week was inspired by a wonderful blog that Clare writes called Three Beautiful Things. Everyday, Clare writes about 3 Beautiful Things that happen each day in her life. It's a wonderful blog! I can only hope to imitate her in a very small way.
This has been a rough week. I got sick again and couldn't hold anything down. Ended up in the ER. Got sick again the next day. Ended up at my doctor's office. I found out I have another infection. I'm on more antibiotics. The doctor also said that they type of pneumonia I have can drag on and on and that I was still battling it. What was beautiful this week? Well, it was hard to see, but there were some beautiful things going on this week in spite of everything!
1) I found out when I was in the ER that there are some beautiful, healing professionals in our town. Not only are they competent, they are also kind and very compassionate. I was treated with dignity and respect, and I was given hope that, after feeling lousy this month, there is hope that I will feel better soon.
2) As much as I complain about insurance costs and the costs of the medications it takes to feel better, I am very grateful that I have insurance to help cover my medical costs and that my copay to see a doctor is only $20. I am also extremely grateful that there are medications to help me heal and manage my medical conditions.
3) Today, I feel good enough to torch. I'm going to shower and get dressed, then I'm heading down to my torch to make beads. It probably won't be for a very long time, but I will be melting glass. This is very healing for me!

Three Beautiful Things This Week was inspired by a wonderful blog that Clare writes called Three Beautiful Things. Everyday, Clare writes about 3 Beautiful Things that happen each day in her life. It's a wonderful blog! I can only hope to imitate her in a very small way.
1) Dusk has been coming later and later each day. Since the solstice, we have gained an hour of daylight. Although there are always 24 hours in day, the more light I see, the better it is for me!
2) I'm torching again! Almost all of my beads are being made for Beads of Courage, I am very happy to be melting glass again! It's nice to think that these beads will make a sick child smile!
3) My view of life has been my home and my bed this week. I went out on Wednesday! Wow! Talk about feeling old! I slept in until 8:30, and I dragged around all day Thursday, but it. was. worth. it. Yahooo!!!!! Maybe next week, I'll be more myself? I sure hope so, in the meantime, I'm in my flannel pajamas and resting.

1) I finally felt good enough to drive home this week. It feels good to be home and sleeping in my own bed again!
2) Even though it was a rough week, I survived the week in bed. I was worked into a doctor appointment, and I feel much better as a result of his treatment. He gave me the jumpstart I needed to head towards healing.
3) I torched for the first time in 3 weeks last night. It sure felt good! The beads weren't the greatest, but they were beads!

1) It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! This is my early Christmas present to me! I've wanted Fiesta Ware for years, so I saved and it was on sale, and now, I own some Fiesta Ware--American Made!
2) Things are beginning to get REALLY busy. The season is upon us! I look forward to the business. I look forward to the crankiness. I look forward to the ultimate gift of peace given to us at Christmas!
3) The house is looking more and more like Christmas. The tree went up on Thanksgiving night! It's even been turned on since then. Some of the decorations from last year are still up, so there isn't much more to do except to listen to Christmas carols, soak the gummy bears in vodka, and get ready for the holidaze!

Three Beautiful Things This Week was inspired by a wonderful blog that Clare writes called Three Beautiful Things. Everyday, Clare writes about 3 Beautiful Things that happen each day in her life. It's a wonderful blog! I can only hope to imitate her in a very small way.
1) To say that this week has been stressful would be an understatement. However, all is going according to plan. Even though Jenny is feeling lousy, she is considered to be textbook in her progress. The doctors keep telling her that by next week, she will feel like a different person. They keep reminding her that the weekend is almost here!
2) Friends pop in and out of our lives. Two special friends were in our lives this week and more will be coming into our lives soon. We welcome their presence in our lives!
3) Pixie gets so much attention in this neighborhood when we walk! People always stop and ask me what kind of dog she is, etc. etc. Of course, being the diva that she is, she loves the attention and can't figure out why everyone doesn't give it to her. That's my Pixie!

Three Beautiful Things This Week was inspired by a wonderful blog that Clare writes called Three Beautiful Things. Everyday, Clare writes about 3 Beautiful Things that happen each day in her life. It's a wonderful blog! I can only hope to imitate her in a very small way.
1) We are finally coming to a point where Jenny's stem cell process is underway. The people whom we have met so far, have been very kind and supportive. It will be a challenging road to travel, but with the support of these trained professionals and our friends, we will reach the end of the journey with a great deal of success for Jenny. I am always amazed by the kindnesses of the people who are sent on our path. I often wonder how many of these kind strangers were really angels in disguise.
2) Nick has called everyday to see how everything is going. One of the practitioners commented that Jenny was so lucky to have a brother who really wanted to be a part of this transplant process and cared enough to call. She said that doesn't always happen.
3) Pixie is adjusting better to life in St. Paul with the kitties. Truly, the kitties rule here. When Pixie and I are together, she is my Velcro dog. She has also claimed the love seat as hers. The kitties have not challenged her on that issue, yet.

1) Jenny's test results were very good again this week! That is so good! She seems to be doing well. It's easier to breathe.
2) Both of the kids were home last weekend! We had a great time together. Pixie and the kitties got along just fine. We all really enjoyed each other!
3) The weather has been great this week! We've had warm days and cool nights. There has been a light taste of fall in the air. I'm ready for fall. It's time for the seasons to change!

1. The hot weather finally passed! We've had 3 beautiful days of perfect summer weather. The days have been warm and the nights have been cool! This is great sleeping weather!
A touch of fall is in the air.
2. The carpets were cleaned. The pantry and the refrigerator are cleaned. We are all beginning to adjust to our "new normal."
3. A couple of Jenny's tests for the week were down a bit, but that's to be expected at this point.
I am so thankful that she is still doing so well! Her sense of humor and refusal to back down are so apparent now. She's an amazing young woman!

1) I received this photo in an email, and does it describe the weather we have had! It's been HOT and HUMID! However, I'm NOT complaining. 6 months from now, we'll be covered in snow and will still be freezing our butts off. I can live with this weather. I'm grateful for it! It's warm!
2) Pixie continues to have gas! The bad news is that her gas is loud. The good news is that because of her love for Activia Light, her gas no longer smells. I am most grateful for that accomplishment!
3) I am also EXTREMELY grateful for the good test results that Jenny had after her first week of chemo. Everything is normal! Praise God! Thank You, Lord!

1) Some weeks are harder than others to find three things for which I can be grateful, but I have learned that there are things everyday for which I can be grateful. Some of the events are small, very small, and other events remind me that I am very blessed.
2) Pixie makes me laugh each day. Yesterday, when I attempted to bribe her to go outside to do her business, (I used her absolute favorite treat!), she looked at me, and turned her head. She refused her treat and refused to go outside. I had to admire her determination! I did laugh, and she didn't have to go outside!
3) We had one day of absolutely beautiful weather with a minimum of humidity. The temperature was below 80 and the humidity was low. The sun was shining. The weather was amazing!

1) As a family, we are going through some tough times right now. Jenny's health is a huge concern for all of us! However, Pixie has shown how tough she can be! She made herself very comfortable at Jenny's! This makes for good vibes and less stress right now.
2) The support we feel from friends and family really helps us to stay afloat during this stressful time. We are most grateful for the continuing love and support!
3) In spite of our concerns, we are still being blessed with many moments of joy! The love and the laughter is there, and this is what I hope we remember from this experience!

Three Beautiful Things This Week was inspired by a wonderful blog that Clare writes called Three Beautiful Things. Everyday, Clare writes about 3 Beautiful Things that happen each day in her life. It's a wonderful blog! I can only hope to imitate her in a very small way.
1) It's been another difficult week in this cancer journey on which we travel. I am beginning to realize how much we truly have! I am also realizing how much things like an tall glass of iced tea with a lot of ice can mean when you are stressed. I am also realizing how much our friends and family mean to us.
2) Playing the "cancer" game is a matter of waiting and waiting. It's good to have family and friends there to wait with you. Nick was home for a week! It was good to have him home!
3) Nick celebrated his 31st birthday on Thursday! I can't believe my baby is now in his 30's! Happy birthday, again, Nick! I'm so glad you were home!

Three Beautiful Things This Week was inspired by a wonderful blog that Clare writes called Three Beautiful Things. Everyday, Clare writes about 3 Beautiful Things that happen each day in her life. It's a wonderful blog! I can only hope to imitate her in a very small way.
1) I don't mind saying this has been one hell of a week. The firestorm we were engaged in this week has been one of the most enormous I have ever been through! I am so grateful for the amazing children I have! Their strength, their love, and their courage has impressed me to the point where I have no words! (That is a rare occurence!)
Jenny and Nick, thank you for being my children!
2) Because of this battle we are fighting, we have found tremendous support from friends and family. Some of our friends, we have never met in person, only on line. You have no idea how much we appreciate all of you standing by us during this challenging time in our lives.
3) Technology is playing a huge part in our lives--from cell phones, texting from our cell phones, computer technology, Facebook--All of these technological tools are at our beck and call, and we are so grateful for them because we can keep in constant communication, if necessary, and keep everyone updated on what's going on in the great battle we are living.

1) It's hard to believe that I have had Pixie for 9.5 months. She's finally feeling comfortable with me--comfortable enough to sneak into my craft room, steal my sea star that I use as a prop, and chew the end of it! Naughty girl! I have even caught her trying to make her way into the room, even though the door is closed! :) I'm glad she feels good enough with me to be naughty now. She's got a beautiful, peaceful heart! She's won my heart!
2) I found out this week that a necklace in the new Creative Jewelry was made with my beads! My friend Tresna Wulan, who lives in Munich, made this Funky and fun necklace!
3) Even though my back has been killing me this week, my massage therapist, Angie was able to work the muscle loose, and now, my back feels so much better! Thanks, Angie!

1) I am most grateful that the 2 nights of terrible storms did not cause me any damage. Even though there were strong winds, sheeting rains, and large hail, there was no damage to the house, Pixie, my children, or anyone that I hold dear. The nights were frightening when those terrible storms hit.
2) I'm very grateful that during those stormy nights, Pixie was a wonderful, calming influence on us. She didn't panic, and I think, if there had been a couch in the laundry room where we waited, Pixie would have slept well.
3) The 4th of July weekend begins today. I am so grateful we live in a country that, not perfect, is one of the most influential in the world. I am grateful that we live in freedom and justice. I am grateful to all of our women and men who are risking their lives for us in war torn places around the world. I am grateful to their families for allowing their loved to serve in the military. I am grateful that we are gifted with the basic freedoms that should be given to all.

1) It's so nice to feel appreciated. After the successful jewelry show at the hospital, I made an appointment with a local boutique owner to see if she would like to carry any of my items in her store. We met. She liked some of my jewelry, and she purchased it! Now, fingers and toes are crossed that her customers will like and purchase my product.
2) I love getting together with friends! Again, it was a social week with different friends. We caught up. We enjoyed each other. We laughed. We talked. We ate together. It was a good week.
3) On a much sadder note, my dear friend, Sister Sharon Keefe died this week. I was able to see her on the morning before she died. I don't think she recognized me. I do know she tried to speak when I was there, but she couldn't. She is so missed. I am truly grateful to have been her friend. I was blessed by that. When you are in the company of a saint, you are also in the presence of God! Sister Sharon, my dear friend, you will be missed, but I'm glad you made your journey safely home!

1) Pixie had a great time at Heartlund Kennels. I was at the Bead and Button Show. She loves going there! They did tell me, though, that she doesn't like her food. Now, we're off in search of new food, and we might have found it!
2) The Bead and Button Show was an amazing experience! It was great to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones, too! The classes were fantastic. They are always well done, except for one, but we won't discuss that one. It was last year. The week flew by.
3) It's great to be home! I'm still tired, but I'm recovering! I'm already looking forward to next year!
