Day 27:: 31 Day Writing Challenge:: We're almost there!

The critters are almost finished.  (There are four of them finished now.)

This is Chesterton.  He's had quite a life so far.  He's been around for a short while.  He's fully feathered now.  That means he's an adult.  Soon, he will need a new home.  Think about it.  You'll like him!

This is Cheech!  He's an aging flower child.  His flowers are fading and broken.  The 60's were way too much for him.  His eyes are swirling, too.  I think it's time for him to retire.  What do you think.

This is Giselle.  She had an accident and broke her foot.  She's fine now, and her foot is healing nicely.  The cast will stay on for a while, but she is fine.

This is Rosie.  She's a sweet little thing.  She sings softly.  She preens herself softly.  She's a sweetheart.
What do you think.

Here's a group shot.  What do you think?  Like them?

On Critters and Such

Sunday, The Craft Star goes live.
My plan is open a store on that site when it opens.
Actually, since it's Mother's Day,
I'll just sign up, but won't open the store for a day or two.
So,
When it comes to critters and such,
I'll give you a sneak preview of some of the items I plan to feature in my new store.
I can't give you a link yet, but when my store is live,
I'll post the link.

Please meet Hans the Hammerhead Shark

This is Shelley, the sea horse.

This is Ricardo the Rhino.

This is Margaritta the Sweet little bird.

This is Rosa the Red Bird.

There will be many more things that I am going to be listing.
They are the...
And such items.  I'll show those next week.
Thanks for looking.

Adding Details: For Me There's Nothing Like Sculptural Work for Practice and I'm Not Cupcake Imparied Anymore!

I've had a hard time torching lately aka making beads because I have developed neck and back spasms.
These really do hurt when I torch, so I've tried tor  rest, but there are times when I have to work on beads.
One of my mantras for this year is:
DETAILS
the other, as you know, is:
HOPE.
So, the other day, I did have HOPE that I could torch for a bit and I did.
I practiced
DETAILS.
The best way for me to do this is to work on sculptural beads.
Presenting Toby the Tuscan.
Shape was my challenge with him.
However, without eyes, wings and a beak, Toby was just a blob.
The details came in the colors I used.
Black needs contrast.
Red, yellow and green provided that contrast.
May I introduce you to Oliver the Owl?
I made him using some cane I pulled myself.  It was a challenge to pull the cane, but it was a good learning experience.
The details were simple.
Cutting the feet to look like claws,
and adding eyes and a beak.
Please meet Fillip the Fish.
Details were really important with him.
I rolled the glass for his fins in frit for more color.
His lips were great to make!
More fins and a tail completed his body.
I like him!
And I discovered, I am no longer cupcake impaired.  Look at the details, too!

Turtles

I made some more turtles today! I love to make turtles!

It's time to expand my critter portfolio. What do you think I should make next?

What do you think gives each critter its personality?

Is it in the eyes? Is it in the body posture?

Please tell me what you think!

Not Much to Say except it's Treasury Monday!

Here's a treasury I created on Etsy! If you have the time and inclination, please click and comment.
Thanks!

Hopefully, there will be a bit more content tomorrow. I love these artists, though!
