When Inspiration Flies

Imagine my shock when I looked up and saw this sculpture.  It's called Sky Diver, and from where I was standing this amazing character looked like he was in free fall.

This is my kind of art!  I love abstract!  I love sculpture.   I love joy and hope!  This sculpture has everything I like about art, except for glass.  So, I decided that one day, and I'm not sure when, this sculpture will be a bead.

It should be fun to make.  I'm not sure how I'm going to do this, but when I do, and it might be a while, I'll show the bead.  I have a feeling that with this one, the glass will do what it wants to do.
We'll see.

Soon, my pretty, very soon!

When it Comes to Flowers

I don't know a lot about them.
I just know I like them.  They not only delight the eye, they inspire my work.

Look at this Morning Glory,
still blooming in the afternoon.
I didn't know they did that.
Look at the colors, too.  They blend so well, and there was no effort in that.
The white is singed with pink and a background of green.

Some flowers trail and blend right into those rough, tough, wild  raspberries!
Those red dots of raspberry add to the color in the scene.  They make the other colors pop.

Then there's the sweet purple clover.
The fragrance can be smelled from a short distance away.  I always have to stop and let the fragrance envelop me before Pixie and I continue on our walk.
Look at the deep lavender of the clover and how it melts into the white then jumps out of the green.

Yellow, brown, white, pink, purple!  Look at how mother nature blends the colors in this small field of flowers.
I wish we could enjoy flowers all year long in Minnesota, but, unless we go to a florist or an indoor garden area, we can't, so now, the patterns and colors are being born.  Each of these pallettes would make a beautiful bead or piece of jewelry.

If these flowers inspire you, send me a photo of what you made, and I'll write a blog about you!

Inspiration an Exercise in Creativity

What these photos really are doesn't matter.
I took them using a small toy that breaks up and multiplies what you see.
My question is: What do you think when you see these photos?
This then becomes an exercise in creativity.
In the first photo, I see dawn. It's that soft light before the light of day
explodes.

Here I see a cityscape at dusk. The buildings begin to be enveloped in the dark.
The sky is pale as the earth is swallowed in the night.

This reminds me of a soft jacket I used to own. It's not, but I remember
the quilted jacket and how lovely it was!
I used to enjoy wearing it.

Here I see a cathedral window with the sun flaking through
the stained glass windows.
Each panel has a meaning.
This window reflects the heart of the window.

Here I see candles burning in a church.
A blue fire escapes from the candles
with it's flames shooting up beyond the parameters of the
field of candles.

This photo reminds me of my faded jeans.
The colors range from dark to light blue
as they do in my jeans,
even the tight ones!

Here I see a cells with their nuclei and other parts
interacting as they begin to divide.

Now, I'm interested.
What do you see?
Can you use these photos in your form of artistic expression
whether it's bead making,
quilting, metal smithing, jewelry making,
painting, designing.

Nature's Sculptures -- Inspiration from my Garden

Sometimes, all you have to do is to look at that which is closest to you in a new light, a new moon, a new direction for inspiration.

And when your view changes, so does your idea or concept. With luck, your ideas have challenged the images in your mind, and creativity is enabled.
Closer or farther, the colors change, the ideas melt into new ideas for the blessings of the creative mind.
Let's choose to look beyond what we see and imagine what can be.

Inspiration

Look what I found for inspiration today! I was making supper when I spilled the BBQ sauce. This photo has not been modified. I mean, even if I could modify the photo. Oh well. The bottle spilled on my floor. Look at my bit of inspiration for the day! Isn't that fun?

Now, where did you find inspiration today?
