Cataract Surgery, Eye Patches and Such

If you follow this blog,
you might remember that I said I was going to have cataract surgery.
Well, the time has come!
Thursday, my right eye will have the old, gunky lens removed and a new one inserted.
For 24 hours, I will have to wear an eye patch to protect my eye.
Since I won't be wearing makeup the day of surgery,
I decided that the least I could do was to wear an eye patch I liked over the ugly one from the hospital.
(The ugly patch will be taped to my face to be removed only to add eye drops.)
So, I made a quick trip to Walgreens down the street where I purchased this.

This eye patch cost me $3.49.
I brought it home.
I found one of my favorite IPod Beads and glued that on to the patch.
I added a couple more beads, some silk cord, and sequins!
Here it is!
This is the patch I will wear over the ugly one from the hospital.
I can't sleep in this one, but it will cover up the tape!
I really like it!
Now, here's how I look in it!
Won't this be fun!!!
I can hardly wait!

You'll be in my prayers for a successful surgery - my Mom had both eyes done last year and it went smoothly and she's delighted to see again. Just keep up with the drops... And maybe wear the eye patch a day or two longer just to mess with people. ;)

Fabby eye patch!! My father had that surgery in both eyes, not at the same time! He didn't have such fabby eye patches though. Good luck Thursday.
