Three Beautiful Things This Week

Three Beautiful Things This Week was inspired by a wonderful blog that Clare writes called Three Beautiful Things. Everyday, Clare writes about 3 Beautiful Things that happen each day in her life. It's a wonderful blog! I can only hope to imitate her in a very small way.

1) I am most grateful that the 2 nights of terrible storms did not cause me any damage. Even though there were strong winds, sheeting rains, and large hail, there was no damage to the house, Pixie, my children, or anyone that I hold dear. The nights were frightening when those terrible storms hit.

2) I'm very grateful that during those stormy nights, Pixie was a wonderful, calming influence on us. She didn't panic, and I think, if there had been a couch in the laundry room where we waited, Pixie would have slept well.

3) The 4th of July weekend begins today. I am so grateful we live in a country that, not perfect, is one of the most influential in the world. I am grateful that we live in freedom and justice. I am grateful to all of our women and men who are risking their lives for us in war torn places around the world. I am grateful to their families for allowing their loved to serve in the military. I am grateful that we are gifted with the basic freedoms that should be given to all.

Three Beautiful Things This Week

1) It's so nice to feel appreciated. After the successful jewelry show at the hospital, I made an appointment with a local boutique owner to see if she would like to carry any of my items in her store. We met. She liked some of my jewelry, and she purchased it! Now, fingers and toes are crossed that her customers will like and purchase my product.

2) I love getting together with friends! Again, it was a social week with different friends. We caught up. We enjoyed each other. We laughed. We talked. We ate together. It was a good week.

3) On a much sadder note, my dear friend, Sister Sharon Keefe died this week. I was able to see her on the morning before she died. I don't think she recognized me. I do know she tried to speak when I was there, but she couldn't. She is so missed. I am truly grateful to have been her friend. I was blessed by that. When you are in the company of a saint, you are also in the presence of God! Sister Sharon, my dear friend, you will be missed, but I'm glad you made your journey safely home!

I'm Grateful For...

Before the holiday rush begins, I know that I need to stop and think, to ponder and appreciate all that I have been given. What is the saying? "Tomorrow is the future, Yesterday is the past, and Today is the present?" I know that's not exactly correct, but it helps to remind me that everything is a gift, a present, so to speak. (I know that's not correct either, but it's close enough!)

All right, here's the start of my list.

My children
My dog
My family
My friends
Those who have been in life but now are gone. I miss those who have died or just drifted away, but I am so grateful for the memories!
My lava lamp ---------------------------------------------------------------->
Glass, I love it!
The ability to use my 5 senses.
My health.
My home
Angels
fabric
My torching slippers! (I couldn't make beads without them!)
The holidays
Rain
Sleep.........
And the list goes on.

Help me with this list, please! Share some of the things that are on your gratitude list.

All, Please, Help Me with This

With so much negativity flowing through cyberspace, I decided that it was time to stop and take a moment to think about my life and all the goodness in it. I'm actually glad things have happened that are so negative, because those negative things have forced me to stop and say, "Wow! I'm so blessed!"

Please help me finish this thought with your own thoughts.

I'm so grateful:
1) for the time with Spike that I never thought I'd have
2) the gift of a great family
3) my true friends
4) Glass, glass, and more glass
5) my extended family that reaches out into cyberspace.
6) the wonderful artists that I have come to "know" both in person and in cyberspace.
7) a great summer

I honestly could go on and and on, but I'd like to hear your thoughts. For what are you grateful?
