Day 13:: Writing Challenge:: AWESOMENESS:: Beads

This blog is called
"For the Love of Beads,"
and
I would be remiss if I didn't talk about my favorite subject.

I've been making beads for almost 9 years now.
Those are the glass beads that I have been making for that long.
I have only recently started making polymer clay bead.

There have been issues that forced me into polymer clay because I needed the creative act of bead making to help me through some very difficult times that continue.

I have now fallen in love with polymer clay and all it's possibilities.

If you look at this pile of beads,
you'll see what I mean.

I've sorted out most of the beads.

There are birds of a feather, but of different colors and sizes.

I don't care if it's glass or clay,
I love making discs.
These discs will fare well in the jewelry that I envision with them.

Then there are focals.
Each one is unique.
(I can't seem to make two beads alike no matter how hard I try.
Glass or clay,
It doesn't matter.)

Soon, I'm hoping that I'll be able to get back to glass, but I don't know when that will be.
It doesn't matter,
Glass
or
Clay.

AWESOME!!

Featured Artist: Sue of Sue Beads on Etsy

Sue, a multi talented artist, is a seller on Etsy. She features lampwork beads, enameled beads, and silver pendants in her store. Let's take a quick tour of her store.

I'm not sure how Sue makes these pendants, but I love these pendants! Sue calls this one Flower Power Silver Heart Pendant.

I love this pendant!

These are some of Sue's enameled Beads. I am so impressed! I love these beads

Be sure to check out all over her enameled beads! They are really awesome!

Sue calls these beads
Garden Rondelles Enameled Beads.
Look at the details in these beads!
Wow!

Last, but not least, I want to showcase Sue's lampwork beads. Isn't this focal amazing?
This is called Lime and Aqua Focal.

Wow! Sue is such a multi talented artist!

There's Still time to shop and so many Stores!

Our next stop on our "Glass Tour" of Etsy is Seraphim Flameworks, Artisan Lampwork Beads. Make a visit to this store, and you will end up drooling at the fantastic beads you see listed there. There are pandora beads, focals, and beads for dreds. Let's take a quick look at what they have. Oh, and when you are finished with their store, visit their blog. They have set up a wonderful blog with much helpful information about glass, beads, and, in particular, silver glass.

These large hole raku nuggets are some of my favorite beads currently in the Seraphim Etsy store. They are rich and earthy. As you can see, they are full of texture. They would be beautiful on a biagi bracelet or strung from a chain to wear around your neck.

This bead, again, is earthy and rich with texture. It is an extra large hole bead. It has a very masculine feel to me, and it might make a great gift for that man in your life.

This focal is, again, full of rich earthy colors and a great deal of texture. Can you imagine the feel of this bead worn as a pendant around your neck? I love the deep red color, too!

Now, I have saved the best for last. Look at the vibrant colors in this bead--the turquoise, the silvered ivory, the pink! The pink? Yes, the pink. Being "pinkinistic" at heart, I have to declare this bead as my ultimate favorite on the Seraphim site. Don't take my word for it, visit Seraphim's store. It will be a trip worth your time.
