So, you need a picture of lemons, but you don't have any, so you remember the saying, "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade..."

I had written an article for Catholic365.com that dealt with lemons. I was out of lemons.  I needed a photo of, at least, one lemon to submit with the article.  All I had was one banana.  I looked at the banana, and I thought, "I could get creative with this."  Hmmmmm.

Doesn't this look like a lemon?

Well, the editor at Catholic365.com didn't think so, either.  So I played with the photo a bit.  I added the circles.

"No," she said.  "That's still a banana."

She was right, that still didn't look right.  So, I played and played with the photo, and, take a look at this!!!!

I made lemonade, so to speak.  These fruits really DO look like lemons!

Sometimes, no matter how creative you become, you still can't change the very nature of things.  Bananas are still bananas, and lemons are still lemons.

The grocery store had a wonderful supply of fresh lemons!

Soon, I'll be making the lemonade!

Day 7: AWESOMENESS: I AN CHANGING

I am changing.

I see the world as
I couldn't see before.

Colors and shapes,
perfect in nature.
Life flows into death
within the silence of the tomb,
raw and free.

The whisper of silent wings
 floating over my garden
thunders in my ear.

 I am changing.

That is
AWESOME!

What's This?

I have to admit, I am in shock! I looked out at the trees in the ravine in my backyard, and I saw it. It's only the beginning of August, and it's way too early! It's still hot and humid outside. We are just hearing the tree frogs chirp at night. I know it's going to happen, and we will see more and more of it as time flies by. It's just too early. I know we all need to rest. Tress just rest for a longer time than we do. I'm not ready, but that doesn't mean nature isn't ready to rest. I'm just not ready for nature to be ready. It's starting. The endless cycle of growth and rest that nature never changes but just accepts. The cycle continues from birth to death to rebirth. I do look forward to the cooler days ahead. I refuse to complain about the heat. I'd rather have that than the dire cold of last winter. I, like nature, need to accept the inevitable cycle of life and death, rest and rebirth. It's just time. Summer is beginning to end and autumn is ready to begin . The endless summer is melting into fall. It's time.
