Dang! Those treasuries are fun!

By the time you see this blog, these treasuries might be gone, but I just wanted to show them to you.

My vessel was featured in this treasury called "Thank you for my Treasury." The curator of this treasury wanted to thank people who had commented on her last treasury. She said that she would be moving things along so that more people could be included. I thought that was very nice! The curator of this treasury is byallisonb. She has a great shop that is full of wonderful items! Take a look. I really like the bright colors!

This is my latest treasury on etsy. I don't know if it will be there when you read this, but here's the link just in case. It's called ACEO.

ACEO's are artist trading cards. They are 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches. I plan to blog on these later. I am absolutely fascinated by these wonderful small bits of art! If it's still there, feel free to c and c.

Finding your Voice as a Glass Bead Maker: People who won't Leave

In Sylvie's class this week, the assignment is: Self Portrait. In the assignment, Sylvie suggested that we search out other sites to see how other artists portray themselves. As I searched, I came across this UTube video. I am humbled. It is amazing to me how God's creatures are able to accomplish so much.

Need I say more? My self portrait to follow later.

Let's all Pray for Peace

In my Etsy Store, one of my listings is a Peace Dove that I make from glass. This little dove is traveling around the world now. As she does, people are reminded to stop and pray for peace.

I belong to a group called the World Peace Prayer Team. When a dove, or whatever another team member is offering, is sold, we notify the leader of the group, and everyone stops and prays for peace.

Essentially, this dove is given for free. There is a price tag of 20 cents because Etsy says that we must charge for everything we sell. I do charge postage for this dove. I have two doves to take to the post office in the morning. One is traveling to Australia, and the other one is traveling to Canada.

It is my sincere hope, that in offering these doves, more and more prayers will fly to heaven for peace in our very troubled world. Even if you don't need a dove as a reminder, please stop during your busy day and offer a small prayer for peace. This is the prayer I have listed in my shop. It is the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
Lord, may I not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
Because it is in giving that we receive,
in pardoning that we are pardoned.
Amen.

I hAd lUnCh with the KiDs!

If you think it's hard to take YOUR children anywhere, just think of how hard it is for ME to take my children ANYWHERE and have them behave!
In spite of the fact that they are 31 and 29, respectively,
I can't take them anywhere without them saying,
"Do I have to eat this?
"Why did we come here?"
"I wanted to go to Burger King."
"I'm a vegetarian."
Sometimes, I think it's easier just to take Spike out to eat.
He will only lift his leg and, well, you know.
He's not fussy.
He doesn't refuse to eat his food.
Oh, well, I guess that's just the way it is.
Sigh!
Actually,
I loved it.
It was good to be together again,
and
it was all in good fun.

Jenny's Been Cooking Again!

And I have her recipe for salad dressing! It is so good! Although you can't find it on her website, she said that I could share it here. Don't forget about her etsy store! What do you think the main ingredient of her recipe is?

Here goes:

Jenny's Salad Dressing

1-2 red peppers stem and seeds removed
Puree in a blender of food processor with
enough EVOO (extra virgin olive oil)
to blend the red peppers.
Add lemon juice, salt, pepper, lemon juice to taste.
And that's all there is to it!
