So, what's a fibula?

Wikipedia will tell you that a fibula is a calf bone located next to the tibia, which is kind of puzzling when you look at the fibula I made. However, Wikipedia also defines fibula as an ancient brooch. This isn't an ancient brooch, but it is a brooch or pin. Thus, it does qualify as a fibula.

I had never made a fibula before, but in the shows I did this summer and fall, people asked for them. Of course, I didn't have them, at the time, but now, in time for a last minute Xmas gift, I do have them.

This is one of the two fibulas I have in my Etsy store.

This is the other fibula I have listed in my Etsy store. I used a bead I made with Chalcedony glass from Gaffer. The colors are muted, but, beautiful in that bead.

So, if you know anyone who needs or just wants a fibula (brooch) (pin), send them to my Etsy store. I have them now!

I love the fibula! I made a fibula once but then soldered a heart on the top so I think I ruined the fibula idea and turned it into a more traditional pin. (Right?)

I don't think so! I think,Lori, no matter what, a fibula is a fibula!
