I Heart Macro! - a Macro Walk in the Park

This guy was hanging around when Pixie and I left Jenny's home.  I don't know what it is, and I don't care, but I do love the pattern on its wings.

Pixie and I started out on this well worn path through the park.

We found this beautiful clover along the way, nestled in with ferns and vines.
This brown eyed Susan marks the beginning of the maturation of summer.

Then, as we left the depths of the park, we saw this fuzzy dandelion.
Beautiful!!
Back at Jenny's we saw this beautiful petunia growing in her neighbor's planter.
All in all, it was a beautiful walk!

Aw, Pixie's eyes are so sweet! What creative ideas did that katydid-ish looking insect's wing pattern inspire?

Well my dear that's what you call a "fish fly" or "june bug" i live in Canada and near water ,these insects wreak havic on us once a year. They are attracted by light so most active at night so when they are out in full force most businesses are forced to turn there light out. Friday night they were so bad it looked like a snow blizzard and they smell like.....well "fish" they cost businesses so much money because they have to hire power washers to clean store fronts every day while they are in season. They last about a month then they are gone till next year, apparently the cleaner the water the more of them there is because thats where they mate and hatch, be lucky you only had one LOL take care ttfn Lana
