I Was One Lucky Human

This is one of the saddest days of my life. I realized this afternoon, that it was time to take Spike to the vet

Now, he's not in pain any more. Now, he's running the fields of heaven, nonstop, chasing rabbits, squirrels, and any other critters that live there.

I remember that fat little puppy we brought home. His name then was Chubs. His name was quickly changed to Spike and our lives changed forever with this silly dog.

He was with us through thick and thin. He gave us so much joy in our darkest days. And now, he's free! He's free of his pain! He's free to run again. I hope he finds a wonderful child to take care of in heaven. He was a wonderful dog!

Spike, we miss you!

And now, if you can stand it again, here's one last video of Spike whining.

Oh Mallory, I am here crying for you...I thought the big guy was doing OK...You're such a good person for making sure he wasn't suffering any more. But I am so sorry, because I know how much it hurts to let them go. :(

Mallory, what a sad post to read. I know how you are feeling but you know it was the right thing for Spike. Doing the right thing isn't easy. It is so hard to let our fur buddies go as they bring such joy to our lives. Spike has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge and his special tree is there for him to rest under. I hope he meets up with my Sunni cat and they both chase butterflies in the shining sun.

Hugs to you my cyber friend.

Big hugs to you. That is such a tough decision to make, even when you know it's the right path. I know he's free and in a much better place now, but that doesn't stop the ache in your heart.

Mallory, I'm so sorry about Spike...I know all too well the hole in your heart left by the loss of a 4-legged friend. I hope Rose was there to show Spike the way and that they are running pain-free. Sending you lots of hugs. It was a brave decision you made.

I am sorry to see this post Mallory, but know also that you have been worried for Spike and that he's been in pain. Now you needn't worry any more, Spike was so lucky to have a good life with you.

I am so sorry Mallory. I know that Spike was your constant & that you will miss him dreadfully.
He had a wonderful human, one who spent the every precious moment she could with him over the last few weeks knowing that that time was soon to end.

In turn he was a faithful companion that trusted in you to know when he could endure the pain no more.

You were both truly blessed.

Hugs

Oh, Mallory...I'm so sorry. No longer in pain is a good thing for Spike but I know its just so terribly hard when a true blue friend has passed. Give yourself time to cry your eyes out and remember all those wonderful memories of the unconditional love Spike gave. Crying does work wonders. Big hug and kisses to you XXOO.
I do believe that dogs ARE woman/mans best friend.

When it's her time to go I hope she meets up with Spike. Tbere was never a doubt in my mind he was as wonderful as his "Mom". I will light a candle for Spike and toward you healing......Sharon
