Trying to find my voice with Polymer Clay

Sharon Driscoll of Right Turn Art Werks
is dedicating this week to clay on her blog.
My understanding is that she will be talking about all kinds of clay and the techniques to achieve them.
Sharon began today with a glossary of terms regarding clay and its techniques.
I've tried ceramic clay, but I found little success with it, so I am reading her blog with great interest.
I hope you do, too.
I've been playing with polymer clay, and now I'm trying to find my voice in this medium.
Here are a few of the things I've done, but I just don't know which way to go yet.
I found this technique doing a search on the internet.  I didn't mark the site, so I can't give credit to the artist who developed it.  If I find it, I will add the credit here.
I started with these rings.
(I was able to use up almost all of my old, failed canes.)
I made this bracelet, and I really like it.  I need to size it again, but it was fun to do.
This bracelet led to this.
It's another bracelet, but I learned by making this the rings are way to big and chunky to look good on anyone's arm!  I will be remaking this, but I don't know what I will do yet!
This bracelet, of course, led to this necklace.
I like it, but I do need to remake this, since it's so heavy it doesn't stay together very well.
It does go with everything, and I like it, but it's too heavy to stay together.
I'm thinking that I might add ribbon?
Not sure.  I'll show you when I finish it again!
These are my "statement" pieces.
Now, on to whimsical.
These are modern, funky sea stars.
I like them.  I still have to sand them, so I won't list them in my store yet, but when I do, I'll let you know.
How about some whimsical bird houses?  I like these pendants, too.  I still have to sand them, so I can't list them, yet.  Again, I'll let you know when I do.
Here are some flowers!  I like these.  I have an idea, so, stay tuned.....

In a more traditional vein, here are some quilt squares.
These take me back to my quilting days.
I did used to love to quilt!
I'm sort of stuck on glass and clay now.

Last, but not least, with the scraps I made some bead holders.
I think these are fun!!!
I'll probably make more, and the good thing is--no sanding!!
Love that!

Well, so far, what I have come up with is that my voice in clay is calling me to color.
Style or technique?
I haven't got the slightest idea yet.
I'm still looking.
Wish me luck!

I think your clay voice says happy and fun! I love the Twirly Circles, and the flowers the best. The little houses are cute too. Keep it up girl!

Thank You for the shout out Mallory. And I think you should take your twists - make some more and cut them into 1" lengths and put a bail in them. Do them in sets for earrings. Then you can add a bead and make them dangle or do them on their own - those are so colorful, cute, and FULL of potential.
